NEW ORLEANS -- — Jordan Johnson scored 36 points to lead New Orleans over Texas A&M-Commerce 88-85 on Monday.
Johnson added six assists and four steals for the Privateers (6-9, 1-1 Southland Conference). Mason Jones added 17 points while shooting 5 of 7 from the field and 7 for 8 from the line, and he also had seven rebounds. Jamond Vincent shot 6 of 11 from the field and 3 for 4 from the line to finish with 16 points, while adding 12 rebounds.
Tommie Lewis finished with 20 points and two steals for the Lions (6-9, 0-2). Texas A&M-Commerce also got 16 points, eight rebounds and four blocks from Jerome Brewer Jr. Vincent Reeves also had 13 points.
