RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME LOG

MILWAUKEE (AP) – Chris Truby helped Jose Lima beat the Milwaukee Brewers yet again.

Jose Lima
Astros pitcher Jose Lima gave up six hits and improved to 9-0 against Milwaukee.

Truby hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning and the Houston Astros sent the Milwaukee Brewers to their first loss in four games at Miller Park, 3-0 Tuesday night.

"We were just outhit and outpitched," Milwaukee manager Davey Lopes said. "When you don't score runs, you lose ballgames."

Lima (1-0) gave up six hits and struck out five before leaving after Tony Fernandez's infield single in the ninth.

"That was better than any start Lima made last year," Houston manager Larry Dierker said.

Lima improved to 9-0 against Milwaukee, which has lost six straight to Houston.

"I want to earn my respect back," said Lima, who gave up an NL-record 48 homers last season. "I was nice and calm, hit my spots and threw my changeup when I needed to."

Billy Wagner followed Lima and struck out the side on 11 pitches for his second save this season.

Truby's home run, his fourth of the season, came with two strikes and one out in the ninth off Curtis Leskanic (0-2) following singles by Richard Hidalgo and Daryle Ward, and a sacrifice by Brad Ausmus.

It was the first time this season the Brewers gave up a run in the ninth inning.

"It was supposed to be a fastball in and I left it over the plate," Leskanic said. "The only thing I wish I could take back on it would have been to get the pitch in more."

Milwaukee had been 3-0 in its new ballpark, which opened Friday. The Brewers opened 0-4 on the road.

Brewers starter Paul Rigdon allowed three hits and struck out six in seven innings.
