The Minnesota Lynx will be without two key players indefinitely because of injury.
Forward Natalie Achonwa has an MCL sprain in her right knee. An MRI also confirmed that guard Aerial Powers has a tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in her right thumb, the team announced Monday.
Both injuries occurred during Saturday night's 80-64 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks, the Lynx said.
Powers is averaging 10.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1 block in four games this season.
Achonwa has appeared in eight games, averaging 3.8 points and 2.1 rebounds.
The Lynx had a rough start to the season but managed to bounce back and put together a three-game winning streak after the return of Napheesa Collier. They are 4-5.
