Rabbitohs star Cody Walker had been cleared by police over his involvement in a street fight in Casino in December, but he still faces possible sanctions from the NRL Integrity Unit.

Footage of Walker fly-kicking another male from last year surfaced online on Monday after he informed police he'd been asked for $20,000 in an extortion attempt.

In the footage Walker can be seen kicking a man in the chest during an altercation. Speaking to the media on Monday, he apologized and claimed he was emotional after grieving the death of his cousin.

"It was not a true reflection of my character and who I am as a person," Walker said.

An investigation into the brawl and the extortion attempt was opened by detectives earlier this week. Investigations into the fight have since concluded with Walker cleared of any charges, while two men aged 20 and 21 have been issued criminal infringement notices for offensive behaviour.

It's alleged the extortion attempt took place on Saturday when someone called Walker's agent Matt Rose demanding cash.

Detectives have traced the number back to another player agent, who is now under investigation.
