Already banged up, Dolphins lose another lineman

Associated Press

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Left guard Mark Dixon broke his right leg on Sunday, further depleting the Miami Dolphins' offensive line.

Dixon, who started 25 of Miami's last 26 games, was hurt late in the first quarter when the Buffalo Bills stuffed running back Lamar Smith for a 3-yard loss. Dixon required help getting off the field before being carted off to Miami's locker room.

Rookie Troy Andrew took over for Dixon because backup left guard Heath Irwin started for injured center Tim Ruddy. Ruddy had a 67-game starting streak come to an end with a right knee injury.

The Dolphins also have backup Spencer Folau starting at left tackle following injuries to Brent Smith and Marcus Spriggs.
