Kevin Trapp praises 'excellent' Thomas Tuchel amid Paris Saint-Germain links

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has praised Thomas Tuchel amid reports linking the former Borussia Dortmund coach with the Ligue 1 leaders.

Current PSG boss Unai Emery is out of contract in the summer and is expected to leave the Parc des Princes after two consecutive Champions League exits at the round-of-16 stage.

Speaking to Sport Bild while on international duty with Germany, Trapp described Tuchel, 44, as "excellent."

"Not wanting to speculate [about the future of Emery], I will not comment," Trapp said.

"However, what I can say is that Thomas is certainly an excellent coach -- he has proven that with his success.

"What he did with Mainz and with Dortmund speaks for itself."

Trapp stayed with PSG in January despite a lack of playing time this season, but said he would not rule out a move in future.

"A change needs to have meaning and I must be able to see everything in its entirety," he said. "I do not feel things like I did in the past.

"I have been with PSG for three seasons, playing regularly in two of them. This campaign, not so much.

"I knew that I would get some game time, though, and that is why it was best to stay in Paris."

Trapp should start for PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue final against Monaco in Bordeaux on Saturday, with the substitute goalkeeper traditionally playing in both domestic cups in France.
