Beijing Guoan hammer Beijing Renhe in CSL, Carrasco off the mark for Dalian Yifang

Beijing Guoan handed newly promoted cross-city rivals Beijing Renhe a 4-0 thrashing as Roger Schmidt's side notched up a third Chinese Super League win in a row on Saturday evening.

A crowd of more than 53,000 turned out at Workers' Stadium to see goals from Jonathan Soriano, Yu Yang, Jonathan Viera and Yu Dabao give Guoan a comfortable win over last season's second division runners-up.

"Our players performed well, it was a tough game and our opponents performed very well," said Schmidt.

"Today we defended very well, the entire defence did a great job. We barely gave the other side an opportunity while at the same time we were patient, waiting for them to make a mistake.

"After we scored the first two goals I think the overall situation of the game was set. We didn't relax and eventually we won 4-0."

Yannick Carrasco, meanwhile, scored his first goal since joining Dalian Yifang from Atletico Madrid as new coach Bernd Schuster avoided defeat in his first game at the helm with a 1-1 draw against Henan Jianye.

Carrasco scored 11 minutes into the game, lashing his shot into the roof of the net from 14 yards out after the Henan defence failed to clear a Nicolas Gaitan corner.

But Christian Bassogog celebrated being given a contract extension until the end of 2020 with the equaliser in the 34th minute to deny Schuster a win in his first game since replacing Ma Lin before the international break.

Obafemi Martins scored a second-half hat trick as Shanghai Shenhua saw off title hopefuls Hebei China Fortune with a 4-2 thrashing after Zhang Chengdong had given Manuel Pellegrini's side the lead three minutes after the restart.

Martins claimed his first in the 62nd minute after only for Ezequiel Lavezzi to restore Hebei's lead two minutes later.

Three goals in the final 14 minutes, however, claimed the three points for Shenhua as Martins scored two more either side of a goal from Fredy Guarin as Shanghai secured a second successive league win.

Guangzhou R&F had a last gasp penalty from Renatinho to thank for their 2-1 win over Changchun Yatai as Eran Zahavi levelled for Dragan Stojkovic's side after Zhang Xiaofei had put Changchun ahead just after the hour mark.

The win was R&F's third of the season and keeps them three points adrift of leaders Shanghai SIPG and level with neighbours Guangzhou Evergrande, Beijing Guoan and Shandong Luneng, who play Guizhou Zhicheng on Sunday.
