Cristiano Ronaldo has been flexing his commercial chops once again, this time appearing in a promotional video for a new Singapore-based shopping app, Shopee.

In the advert, Ronaldo can be seen thundering a trademark free kick into the top corner only to be greeted with an unexpected wall of silence from the crowd.

What follows is what's known in acting circles as an Oscar-worthy tour de force.

He scores, he acts, he dances and he delivers the all-important tag line with incredible gusto. We also think we've heard that tune somewhere before. "Baby Shark," anyone?

All together now.... "Shopee!"

Man United unveil new third kit

Manchester United have released their new third shirt for 2019-20, a homage to their FA Cup winning team of 1909.

Contesting their first ever final, United faced Bristol City and therefore played in a change white strip with a red chevron across the chest and the red rose of Lancashire emblazoned on the badge.

To mark the 110-year anniversary of that historic result, the latest United jersey features a subtle black rose motif. That said, if it were really to remember that final we're not sure why the kit isn't white, or why they didn't do it in 2009.

United have since won the FA Cup on 11 further occasions. We're also not really sure of the lighting on the publicity snaps, however.

Bremen's wonderful beer machine

With the new Bundesliga season inbound, Werder Bremen have taken steps to ensure that their fans' beer steins never run dry.

Indeed, the club have installed new cashless "self-serve" beer taps developed by local brewery Haake-Beck inside their stadium, which will allow supporters to fill and re-fill their glasses as they see fit.

Payment is made by using a pre-paid 'beercard' that can be topped up before, during and after matches.

Bremen have a long-standing partnership with the Haake-Beck brewery, even developing a so-called "fan beer" (Haake-Beck 12) back in 2011 which was specifically created in collaboration with Die Werderaner supporters.

Coady's love letter to Wolves fans

Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Conor Coady has written to thank each individual fan who made the long trip to Armenia to watch the club's recent Europa League qualifier against Pyunik.

A hardy band of 48 Wolves supporters made the 6,370-mile round trip to Yerevan to witness their side record a commanding 4-0 victory in the first leg of their third-round qualifying tie.

Tickets for the match were only £1 but the travel and accommodation costs involved soon took the total outlay above the £1,000 mark.

"[Coady] came to us, he wanted to come up with an idea to say 'thank you' to the travelling fans," a Wolves spokesman told the BBC. "He has quite a big connection with the fans and they've got a connection with him."

The letters were all addressed individually and were hand-signed by Coady, Wolves said.
