Klopp: Manchester United's schedule is a crime (1:02)

Jurgen Klopp sympathises with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's decision to rotate the Man United squad vs. Leicester. (1:02)

Amid a packed football schedule across Europe, the wait for Manchester City's title celebration finally ended, thanks to Manchester United's 2-1 loss to Leicester City in midweek. In terms of the race for European spots, however, Arsenal kept things interesting by beating Chelsea 1-0 on Wednesday, doing Leicester, and possibly Liverpool, a huge favour in the process.

In La Liga, meanwhile, the title race remains on, but thanks to Barcelona and Real Madrid's continued struggles, Atletico Madrid might finally get their hands on the league trophy for the first time since 2013-14. The Serie A title race is over, but the race for the UCL spots is very much on, with Juventus facing the genuinely shocking prospect of missing out next year. The teams above them -- Atalanta, AC Milan and Napoli -- all seem to be ending strongly, and scoring for fun along the way.

There's drama in France as well, with Paris Saint-Germain possibly failing to be champions for the first time since 2016-17. They remain in the hunt for a trophy this season though, thanks to a dramatic penalty shootout win over Montpellier in the French Cup semi-final on Wednesday.

Here are the best numbers from the midweek action.

Premier League

This is Manchester City's 5th league title in the Premier League era (since 1992-93). Only Manchester United have more (13). All five of City's PL titles have come in the last 10 seasons.

This is Pep Guardiola's 9th league title in 12 seasons as senior head coach.

It's Pep's 31st trophy in 12 seasons as a senior team head coach (Barcelona 14, Bayern Munich 7, Manchester City 10)

Also, 3: Pep has won 3 league titles with each of the senior teams he has managed (Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Man City).

Sergio Agüero has now won 15 trophies with Manchester City, overtaking David Silva for most in club history.

Emile Smith Rowe now has six goal contributions this Premier League season (2 goals and 4 assists). The only players 20 years old or younger with more contributions this season are Phil Foden (12), Mason Greenwod (9), and Bukayo Saka (8)

Also, 11: Smith Rowe is the 11th Arsenal player to score multiple goals in a single Premier League season while being 20 years old or younger

Chelsea have committed 8 errors leading to goals this PL season. Only Liverpool have committed more (9).

This was Arsenal's first match away win to Chelsea in the Premier League since October 2011, snapping an eight-match winless streak.

Also, 1: Arsenal complete the league double over Chelsea for the first time since 03-04 (that was the last season Arsenal won the Premier League).

Chelsea had 19 shots (5 on goal), their most in a PL match this season without scoring

Serie A

Milan have been awarded 18 penalties this season in Serie A, the most for any team in Europe's top five leagues (Monaco are second with 15).

Romelu Lukaku has 11 assists in Serie A this season, that is tied with Atalanta's Ruslan Malinovsky for most in the league.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has scored 11 Serie A goals this season, the most he's scored in a league season since scoring 11 with Borussia Dortumund in 2015-16.

Franck Kessié has converted 9 penalties this season in the league. He is tied with Bruno Fernandes for 2nd most among Europe's top five leagues. Only Wissam Ben Yedder, and Gerard Moreno have more (10 each).

Luis Muriel has scored 22 goals in Serie A this season, breaking a tie with Romelu Lukaku and Dušan Vlahovic for 2nd most in the league. (Cristiano Ronaldo, of course, leads with 28)

Also, 40+: Muriel joins Cristiano Ronaldo, Ciro Immobile, and Romelu Lukaku as the only players in Serie A to have 40+ goals over the last two seasons.

43 years, 104 days

Gianluigi Buffon saved an early penalty in Juve's win over Sassuolo. At 43 years and 104 days old, he is the oldest goalkeeper to save a penalty in Serie A, overtaking Francesco Antonioli's record (42y-179d)

He last saved a spot kick in January 2018 against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia. His last saved a penalty in Serie A in August 2017 vs Cagliari.

Juventus have conceded a goal in 12 straight Serie A games, the club's longest streak without a clean sheet since 2010 (19 matches).

Milan have now won 15 away games this Serie A season; tied with Inter for most wins in the history of the competition (15 in 2006-07).

Milan's 7-0 win vs Torino is tied for the 3rd largest margin of victory among Europe's top five leagues this season (the only larger margins were Manchester United 9-0 over Southampton and Bayern Munich 8-0 over Schalke).

La Liga

Marcos Llorente has been involved in 23 goals in La Liga this season (12 goals + 11 assists). The only midfielder to be involved in more goals in Europe's top five leagues this season is Bruno Fernandes (28 - 17 G + 11A).

Ronaldo-Messi corner

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th goal for Juventus in his 131st game for the club. By comparison, it took him 253 games to reach 100 goals for Manchester United, 105 games with Real Madrid and 165 games with Portugal.

Also, 100: Paulo Dybala also scored his 100th career goal for Juventus in the same game, in his 252nd match for the club.

Only one player (Omar Sivori - 124 games) reached 100 goals in fewer games with the club than Cristiano Ronaldo

Lionel Messi extended his La Liga lead with 29 goals this season. Messi now has 23 goals vs Levante in La Liga, he has only scored more against Atlético Madrid (26) and Sevilla (30).

Messi's 37 goals this season are tied with Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland for 2nd-most across the top five European Leagues in all competitions. Robert Lewandowski is leading with 42.
