Bayer Leverkusen have signed Germany defender Jonathan Tah to a new contract, tying him to the club through the 2022-23 season.
The 22-year-old, who had been linked with moves to Borussia Dortmund and Juventus, joined Leverkusen from Hamburger in 2015. He has made 112 appearances for the club and has won three caps for Germany.
Originally contracted until 2020 with a €25 million buyout clause, Tah made the decision to continue his career at the Bay-Arena.
"I've always said I really feel at home in Leverkusen," Tah told the club's website. "The club and the rest are perfect for me. I became a full international at Bayer 04 and I can develop at the highest level here."
Citing the interest of "a number of top clubs," sporting director Rudi Voller said it was "a big success" that Tah decided to remain with Leverkusen.
"He is now one of the top German defenders," Voller added.
Leverkusen signed captain Lars Bender to a new deal earlier this month and now hope to convince attacker Julian Brandt to prolong his contract, which runs until 2019.
