The University of Maine announced Thursday it will play at Sun Belt member Georgia Southern in 2019.
The matchup is scheduled for Sept. 7 at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to compete against a great program in Georgia Southern," Maine coach Joe Harasymiak said. "We have played them in past years and we always look forward to competing against the best."
Georgia Southern has won all three previous meetings in the FCS playoffs: 31-28 in overtime in the 1998 first round, 31-7 in the 2002 quarterfinals and 35-23 in the 2011 quarterfinals. The Eagles won a record six national championships on the FCS level before moving to the FBS in 2014.
