IRVING, Texas – Since 2008, the Dallas Cowboys have selected 63 players in the draft, and 26 of them made pre-draft visits to Valley Ranch.

The Cowboys used 29 of their 30 allotted national visitors this year and seven were quarterbacks: Carson Wentz, Jared Goff, Paxton Lynch, Connor Cook, Christian Hackenberg, Jacoby Brissett and Dak Prescott.

Since 2004 only twice has the Cowboys’ top pick not visited before the draft. The Cowboys picked DeMarcus Ware with the 11th overall pick in 2005, and he became the franchise’s all-time leader in sacks. In 2012, the Cowboys traded up to the sixth overall pick to take cornerback Morris Claiborne, who has three career interceptions and signed a one-year deal to remain with the club earlier in the offseason.

The Cowboys had eight draft picks last year and five were among the national visitors: Byron Jones, Randy Gregory, Chaz Green, Damien Wilson and Mark Nzeocha. Ryan Russell was part of the Dallas Day visits.
