WEST HAM vs. CHELSEA

2:30am (AEST) Sunday April 25, London Stadium

A London Derby that has more riding on it now than there has been for a very long time. That is the scenario facing punters when West Ham take on Chelsea at the London Stadium in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Usually you would go 'all in' on Chelsea, but the Hammers are a different beast this year, and actually sit level with their neighbours on the table at present (55 points).

With just six games left, the race for the top four is well and truly alive, and three points for either team here will take them a long way to securing Champions League football next season.

West Ham have had a spectacular season off the back of a few handy signings including Jesse Lingard, who I am tipping to find the back of the net here.

Chelsea have done really well since Thomas Tuchel took over and are into an FA Cup Final and the semis of the Champions League.

While both teams have had a great campaign they come into this fixture having dropped points.

The last time these teams met was the backend of last year when Chelsea ran out 3-0 winners. Prior to that, West Ham got a 3-2 verdict which followed a 1-0 result in their favour at Stamford Bridge in late 2019.

You have to wonder what sort of effect the European Super League has had on clubs like Chelsea. After all, they were lucky to draw against Brighton the other day so I am banking on the fact they won't be at their best.

Throw in the fact West Ham will be desperate to spoil the party and pick up points for themselves and I can see plenty of action in this one.

At the end of the day, I am going for value and smelling the upset with West Ham. They've won two of the past three encounters with the Blues and the psychological pressures associated with the ESL may still be on the players mind.

TIP: West Ham (Result) @ $4.25
TIP: Jesse Lingard (To Score A Goal) @ $3.25
