EPL Round 25 - Tottenham vs. Manchester City (Monday 3:30am AEDT)
Manchester City are at pretty skinny odds to beat Tottenham on the weekend, however, I think there is a bit of value to be found in this match.
City are clear second the EPL standings but Spurs still have designs on a spot in the top four and if they are to achieve that, then they need three points here.
Since Jose Mourinho's arrival they are closer to the Champions League spots than they were before, however, they have lost a few games they were favourites in, notably against Southampton, while they drew with Watford two matches ago and struggled against Norwich last time out.
Spurs aren't leaking as many goals as they were a few months back and they will need that defence to hold up against one of the best attacks in the competition.
What will hold them in good stead will be their recent record against City. Spurs tend to lift for the two-time defending champs and this was never more evident than their 2-2 draw earlier this season.
Of course, who can forget their epic Champions League quarter final clash from 2018/19? Tottenham got the better of City on their way to a first appearance in the Final.
City, for their part, have been playing better in the past month or so but come into this off a 1-0 defeat in the second leg of their League Cup semi against United, however, they still managed to progress through to the Final.
Sitting 19 points behind runaway leaders Liverpool, which could be even more by the time this match rolls around, Manchester City realistically can't win the title this year and may drop off just a touch in intensity for this.
Coupled with Tottenham's desire for a top four spot, this could be a far more difficult affair for City, especially when you throw in the Guardiola vs. Mourinho factor.
On that basis I think the Draw is worth a ticket and represents good value.
