SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25

Melbourne vs. Western Bulldogs, Optus Stadium, 7:15pm (AEST)

Demons team news: Several Melbourne players will be vying for selection in the club's first Grand Final appearance since 2000, but one of those won't be veteran and fan favourite Nathan Jones who this week returned to Melbourne for the birth of his twins, before announcing his retirement. All-Australian defender Steven May pulled up sore from the side's preliminary final win over Geelong where he picked up a slight hamstring niggle. He is expected to retain his place, while counterpart Joel Smith and speedster Jayden Hunt are among those knocking down the door for selection.

Bulldogs team news: It's selection headaches galore for Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge who could be making several tough calls for the big dance. Key defender Alex Keath (hamstring) was a late out in last week's preliminary final but is almost certain to return if he gets through the next week's training load unscathed, while livewire Cody Weightman (concussion) looks a likely replacement for youngster Laitham Vandermeer, who was subbed out of the famous win over Port Adelaide with a hamstring injury of his own.

TAB odds: Demons $1.65, Bulldogs $2.25

ESPN's prediction: Demons by 14 points

Norm Smith Medal prediction: Christian Petracca
