Team news: Young ruckman Lloyd Meek is set to make his AFL debut for the Dockers with counterpart Sean Darcy in doubt due to a knee injury. Rookie Demon Jordon James will also play his first AFL game.

Adelaide vs. Geelong, Adelaide Oval, 4:35pm (AEST)

Team news: The Crows have named small forward and first gamer James Rowe for their season opener in addition to Sam Berry, while Isaac Smith and Shaun Higgins will to wear the navy blue hoops for the first time. Jeremy Cameron will miss with a hamstring injury.

ESPN tip: Cats by 38 points

Essendon vs. Hawthorn, Marvel Stadium, 7:25pm (AEST)

Team news: The Bombers will unleash tall duo Nik Cox and Harrison Jones among five club debutants for their Marvel Stadium season opener. Young Hawks Jacob Koschitzke and Tyler Brockman have put their hand up for a Round 1 debut after strong AAMI Series outings. Former Pie Tom Phillips has also been named.

Brisbane vs. Sydney, Gabba, 7:45pm (AEST)

Team news: Logan McDonald, Braeden Campbell and Errol Gulden will all make their AFL debut for the Swans on Sunday, while for the Lions, Joe Daniher and Harry Sharpe will pull on the maroon.

North Melbourne vs. Port Adelaide, Marvel Stadium, 1:10pm (AEST)

Team news: Connor Rozee will miss a few weeks for the Power, but Hamish Hartlett and Todd Marshall are in line for selection. Orazio Fantasia and Aliir Aliir will make their club debuts and MIles Bergman will play his first game as well.

GWS vs. St Kilda, Giants Stadium, 3:20pm (AEST)

Team news: The Giants have announced that Matt Flynn and Tanner Bruhn will make their AFL debuts on Sunday. For St Kilda, they're facing a number of big outs. Max King (concussion), Brad Crouch (suspension), Dan Hannebery (calf), James Frawley (hamstring), Jarryn Geary (leg), Rowan Marshall (foot), Paddy Ryder (personal leave) and Ben Paton (leg) will all miss.

Team news: Josh Kennedy has declared himself fit for the Eagles after he missed the AAMI Series match against the Dockers.
