As it happened: Australia's football codes forge on in empty stadiums

With the threat of coronavirus to society front of mind, the AFL and NRL have decided to continue on behind closed doors, and we were here to take you through the first night of action in empty stadiums.

Richmond and Carlton opened the 2020 AFL season at the MCG in Melbourne with the TIgers running out four goal winners, while Round 2 of the NRL kicked off at ANZ Stadium with the Cowboys defeating the Bulldogs.
