FGCU has taken 26 field goal attempts. 20 of them have been 3's. Miami has been a little more balanced and has just opened up it's biggest lead, 31-22, midway through the 2nd quarter.

Indiana won the WNIT championship last year, but got an NCAA Women's tournament at-large bid this year as one of last teams in. No. 10 seed Hoosiers made the most of that as they upset No. 7 Texas 69-65, one of two No. 10 seeds to win on tournament's first day. The other was Buffalo over Rutgers. Disappointing finish for Texas, which had advanced to at least the Sweet 16 last four years.

Two overtimes, 3 other single digit games involving double digit seeds, and a 10 beating a 7. This has been the best first half of the first day of the tournament I can remember.

Hanna Hall for Buffalo just banged her elbow hard on the court and is out of the game. The Bulls need their point guard against the Rutgers pressure defense. Something to watch.

Tough scheduling for the fans of Buffalo basketball with the men and women playing at almost exactly the same time.

Bucknell is shooting nearly 60% from the field and is tied with Florida St with 3:29 left in the first half. The Bison are the 12 seed in Greensboro. It's been an impressive day for double-digit seeds. Mercer and Rice nearly pulled upsets before falling short.

No. 5 seed Marquette rallied from down nine with 2 minutes, 46 seconds left to force overtime and then beat No. 12 Rice 58-54 in NCAA women's tournament first round. Owls kept pace the way they wanted it, but went cold offensively. Scored just two points in last 7:46 of game (including OT). Loss ends Conference USA champ Rice's 21-game winning streak.
