Scotland coach Gregor Townsend has made six changes to his Scotland side for the visit of France on Sunday.

Simon Berghan, Grant Gilchrist and Ryan Wilson come in for Jon Welsh, Ben Toolis and Cornell du Preez in the forward pack.

Former captain Greig Laidlaw is recalled at scrum-half, while Pete Horne is rewarded for his try-scoring cameo in Cardiff with a start and Sean Maitland replaces the injured Byron McGuigan on the wing.

David Denton and Blair Kinghorn both come on to the replacements' bench, with the latter set for his international debut.

Townsend said: "We've seen a response from the players in training this week and that needs to continue into and through the 80-plus minutes of the match because France will pose a massive and immensely-physical challenge."

Scotland team to play France:

Hogg, Seymour, H. Jones, Horne, Maitland, Russell, Laidlaw; Reid, McInally, Berghan, Gilchrist, J. Gray, Barclay (captain), Watson, Wilson.

Replacements: Lawson, Bhatti, Welsh, Toolis, Denton, Price, Harris, Kinghorn.
