Sititi to skipper Samoa at the World Cup sevens

Wellington loose forward Semo Setiti, who captained Manu Samoa to victory in last year's Epson Cup , will lead the Samoan sevens squad for the World Cup in Mar del Plata, Argentina, from January 26-28 and the Wellington sevens next month.

The squad, preparing in Auckland this week before leaving for Argentina on Saturday morning, also includes Wellingtonians Steven So'oialo and first five eighth Tanner Vili.

The Crusaders' flying winger Afato So'oalo, another with extensive Super 12 experience, is on standby for the squad.

At the World Cup Manu will be in the same group, Pool D, as Australia, Wales, USA, Portugal and Hong Kong and will be one of the sides fancied to make further progress from that group.

The full Manu Samoa squad is :

Semo Sititi (captain), Luke Mealamu, Tim Cowley, Steven So'oalo, Daniel Farani, Tanner Vili, Toa Samania, Gaolo Elisara, Ailoa Samania, Ron Fanuatanu.
