Jameis day-to-day with shoulder sprain

The Bucs will decide later in the week if a sprained A.C. joint in the shoulder of his throwing arm will keep Jameis Winston out on Sunday. Ryan Fitzpatrick will get most of the reps this week.

Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter said that it's a sprained AC joint for quarterback Jameis Winston. There is no structural damage. He will be day-to-day.

A visibly upset Jameis Winston said, "I tried to go back out. Sitting on the sideline only makes it worse. It just stiffened up." He said he's come out of games before but has never missed one. "I don't think I'm going to miss a game." Of course, that's not entirely up to him either.

Ryan Fitzpatrick's 4-yard touchdown throw to DeSean Jackson in the third quarter was for his seventh different team. Per Elias, that's tied with Chris Chandler, Vinny Testaverde and Gus Frerotte for the most different teams a player has thrown a touchdown for.

Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter: "I can't tell you how disappointed and embarrassed I am at the way we played through the first two quarters and first two series of the third quarter. Unfortunately that starts with me. I obviously did a horrible job of getting these guys ready to play because that was the worst first half of football I've ever seen in my life."

Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter said X-rays were negative on Jameis Winston's shoulder and he will undergo an MRI when he's back in Tampa. He also said he thought Winston was coming out immediately after that hit by Chandler Jones but he wanted to continue until he couldn't. He doesn't believe Winston hurt it more by continuing to play.

Jackson's short TD puts the Bucs on the board (0:21)

Adrian Peterson reminded everyone that he isn't done yet. In his first game with the Cardinals, Peterson rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries (5.2 yards per carry). Peterson used his footwork/vision to find running lanes and he also showed a burst through the hole with the ability to finish.

Credit the Bucs' defense for stepping up to stop the bleeding in the second half against the Cardinals, allowing Ryan Fitzpatrick and the offense to score 33 points, but that start on defense was beyond atrocious. It should never have come to that. Players looked confused over their responsibilities. They looked like they weren't communicating, which is a hurdle they had to work very hard to overcome last year. They took several steps backwards today.

David scoops up Fitzgerald's fumble for a Bucs TD (0:27)

Well things are really interesting now, with Lavonte David recovering a Larry Fitzgerald fumble to score a touchdown. It came right on the heels of Ryan Fitzgerald's touchdown throw to Cameron Brate, his second touchdown throw of the game. This may not be over after all, as crazy as that sounds.

Jenna Laine ESPN Staff Writer

The Bucs are now on the board with a touchdown from Ryan Fitzpatrick to DeSean Jackson. The Bucs are having to rely on Jackson and tight end Cameron Brate as Mike Evans has been rendered catchless by Patrick Peterson, who's been all over him all game.

Jenna Laine ESPN Staff Writer

The Bucs are well on their way to another disaster in the desert. The Cardinals had 303 total yards in the first half -- their most since 2014 (Week 17 against the 49ers). Carson Palmer was a perfect 12-for-12 for 211 yards and two touchdowns. Adrian Peterson already has 76 rushing yards and Larry Fitzgerald has eight catches for 128 yards. This is as ugly as it gets, minus the four interceptions from Jameis Winston last year.
