After an offseason that featured Chuck Pagano being fired, Josh McDaniels leaving the Colts at the alter, Frank Reich being hired as coach, no headline-grabbing free agent signings, trading back from No. 3 to 6 in the draft, selecting a guard at No. 6 and (FINALLY) Andrew Luck throwing a football, the Colts are done until training camp on July 25. Reich cut the final minicamp practice short by about an hour Thursday

Colts QB Andrew Luck made between 10-15 longer throws in route vs. air in practice Wednesday. Luck, who is working his way back from right shoulder surgery, is not expected to practice on the final day of minicamp on Thursday. The Colts want Luck simulate the regular season as much as possible with throwing just four days of week. Luck's goal is to enter training camp with no restrictions on his right shoulder.

Colts coach Frank Reich and former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich on the criticism Philadelphia players have received after the Super Bowl champions were disinvited to the White House: "My experience with those players is the one thing that certainly can't be questioned is their character. Starting with Malcolm (Jenkins). He is of the highest character, one of the true pros I've ever been around in the short time I was with him. That whole team was very high character players. I think they're trying to handle their business the right way."

Colts coach Frank Reich said QB Andrew Luck is getting "real close" to throwing a regulation football. Luck has been a regular at the team's offseason workouts, but the wait for him to throw a regulation football for the first time since October 2017 continues. “Again, I've never been through what he's been through," Reich said. "I could sit here and say what I think, but it's got to come from down here (pointing at his heart). There's an instinct as a player, that you know when you're ready to go and you keep testing it and testing it and you work with people you're working (with), and you trust your instinct when you're ready to go.”

Colts coach Frank Reich said they sat down with defensive lineman Chris McCain and they agreed for him not to be around the team for the time being. McCain has been charged with two counts of battery stemming from an alleged incident involving a woman earlier this year. The charges were filed last week in Southern California, and McCain is scheduled to be arraigned on July 13. "Felt like it was best that we get this thing settled and work through it," Reich said. "I feel comfortable with that. As an organization in general, we talk a lot about as a team, that respect is something very important to us, not just as team, but as an organization. That's one of our values. We talk about respect in this building for one another, respect on the field for our opponents and in this community. We love this city, this community. As players we want be role models in the community and that's very important. It's everybody in the building. Everybody's held to the same standard, and any violation of that code is something to be taken seriously."

Colts TE Eric Ebron said he thinks QB Andrew Luck is the "smartest person on earth." Then Ebron paused and goes "maybe the second smartest behind the creators of Amazon or Microsoft."

Colts ageless kicker Adam Vinatieri, like GM Chris Ballard and owner Jim Irsay, believes Andrew Luck, who missed last season with a shoulder injury, will be their starting QB Week 1 next season. "We'll see him. I'm not a doctor. I'm not privy to any inside information right now. He's a tough guy. He looks great. He's got a great attitude," Vinatieri said on a podcast with @AdamSchefter."He's not a guy that looks like he feels bad and goes 'Oh, I don't know.' I've got 100% confidence that he's going to be back and ready to go. He's going to have a great season. He looks good. Everything about him right now tells me that he's going to be ready to go. And again, I'm not a doctor, I'm not inside the meetings when they're going on -- I don't think that they, they haven't just pushed him back. They've had time and they've used it to make sure that he's a 100% healthy and ready to go. But he looks really good. I would guess that he'll be back. ... we will see him. I really don't have a doubt."
