In an expected move, the Bills on Friday released veteran tight end Charles Clay. The move saves the Bills about $4.5 million of Clay's $9 million cap number in 2019 and gives Buffalo about $79 million in salary cap space, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Clay, 30, saw his production decline steeply in 2018. Jason Croom is now the Bills' only tight end under contract for 2019.

The Bills' three-year contract with G/C Spencer Long is actually a one-year deal with $1.2 million guaranteed with a team option for 2020 and another team option for 2021.
