Steve Mills on Kristaps Porzingis' decision to skip exit meetings with ex team president Phil Jackson and Mills last April due to the drama and dysfunction surrounding the team: "We've been in touch with Kristaps. I've spoken to him when we made the changes and he's very excited about where we're going as I outlined how I saw this team moving forward.... I'm very confident that we will make him feel good about being a Knick and make him feel good about the environment here."

Jeff Hornacek asked about the Triangle, says, " the style that guys are liking to play is a little bit different." Seems like offense will change significantly.

In a blog written on a company website, Knicks GM Scott Perry described how his background as an athlete, coach and executive shapes his views and approach as general manager. He offers some insight into his thoughts on the future of the Knicks. "There are no shortcuts," he writes. "Reshaping the Knicks as a championship contender will be a step-by-step process, and along the way, the plan will demand patience, as our young core of Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Willy Hernangómez, Frank Ntilikina and Ron Baker mature. But allow me to add a twist. I don't view my job as an either-or proposition. A general manager — especially in today's world of free agency and player movement — must always have his antenna up for all possibilities." Perry didn't mention any other Knicks in his blog, including Carmelo Anthony, whom the Knicks have hoped to trade.

Worst NBA superstar breakups in the past 30 years: 2017 Knicks

The relationship got off to a rocky start when Phil Jackson said in 2014 that he "wasn't losing any sleep" over the possibility of Carmelo Anthony leaving New York in free agency. And things only got worse from there.

Jarrett Jack has been one of more than 15 Knicks working out and scrimmaging at the team's training facility in Tarrytown. Carmelo Anthony has been training at his gym in the Sky Building in Manhattan but hasn't been working out at the facility, which is somewhat noteworthy but not all that surprising since the Knicks and Anthony aren't on great terms (the club wants to trade Anthony; Anthony wants to be traded). Other Knicks players have been to Carmelo's gym for pickup and members of the organization, including Steve Mills and Jeff Hornacek, have attended workouts.

Veteran point guard Jarrett Jack says he's 100 percent healthy after he was limited to two games last season due to a right knee injury. He's been working out at the Knicks training facility with rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina and others. "Really long arms, really active defensively," Jack said of Ntilikina, who has a 7-0 wingspan. "Great size. Just looking forward to giving him all the game that I've gotten over these 13 years… He has a great pace to him. He's crafty, definitely going to cause a lot of problems on the defensive end which in turn can hopefully lead to some easy buckets on offense."
