Asked Thibs yesterday how Derrick Rose's game has changed most since they were first together in his MVP season in Chicago. "Just health. He's a different guy, but you can't forget Derrick has already been through -- and obviously when he was at an MVP level that was the peak, but my last year in Chicago he had a great year, that team was really good. If [Pau] Gasol doesn't get hurt in the conference semifinals [against the Cleveland Cavaliers] who knows what happens? The next year he gets a fractured eye socket [at the start of training camp.] Last year if you go back through his games, he averaged 18 points a game, and if you take it by team and you see what he did, he still has the potential to be very good."

Steve Kerr on what he expects to see from Derrick Rose in his latest return: "I have no idea," Kerr said before Sunday's game. "I haven't paid close attention to him this year because he's been in the East and haven't seen much of him ... but the main thing is I'm just pulling for him. I always hate when guys get injured; he's been such a dynamic player in this league and I'm glad he's getting an opportunity here. I want him to play well after tonight, but it seems like it's a good spot for him, with Thibs and Jimmy Butler. So hopefully this will be a good landing spot for him and he can get things going again."
Blake Griffin had 25 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, and the Detroit Pistons ended a four-game losing streak with a 99-83 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Friday night.
