Undefeated Irish featherweight James Gallagher will face Hungary's Adam Borics in the main event of Bellator 196 on April 6, in Budapest, Hungary.
Bellator MMA officials confirmed the 145-pound headliner with ESPN on Thursday. The event will air on the Paramount Network in the United States.
Gallagher (7-0) is considered one of Bellator's top prospects. The 21-year-old trains out of SBG Ireland in Dublin, home of UFC star Conor McGregor.
He is coming off an electric first-round submission over Chinzo Machida at Bellator 180, which took place last June at Madison Square Garden. He was scheduled to headline an event in Ireland late last year but was forced out due to a knee injury.
Bellator's featherweight division, in general, features some of its best young prospects, including Gallagher, 22-year-old A.J. McKee and 21-year-old Aaron Pico.
For Borics (6-0), it will mark his second appearance under the Bellator banner. He scored a first-round submission of his own at Bellator 177 in April 2017.
This marks the second consecutive year that Bellator will promote an MMA event in Budapest. The Bellator 196 card will also feature professional kickboxing, as did last year's Bellator 177 card.
