Veteran mixed martial artist Melvin Guillard is slated to headline Bellator 171 opposite Chidi Njokuani on Jan. 27 in Mulvane, Kansas.
Bellator officials announced the matchup on Tuesday. The bout will take place at a 175-pound catchweight inside Kansas Star Arena.
Guillard (32-16-2) was suspended for one year by the Kansas Athletic Commission after he failed a fight night drug test following a win over David Rickels on July 22. That result was later changed to a no-contest.
KAC commissioner Adam Roorbach told MMAFighting.com the commission reduced Guillard's suspension length to six months after the 33-year-old successfully completed a rehabilitation program.
The KAC does not reveal the identity of banned substances in drug test failures. According to a report by MMAFighting.com, Guillard tested positive for drugs of abuse.
Guillard is officially 1-4 in his last six appearances, with two no-contests. He has three wins in his last 13 appearances. A former UFC lightweight, Guillard signed with Bellator MMA in 2015.
Njokuani (16-4) is 3-0 in the Bellator cage and is coming off back-to-back knockouts.
