Cabrera's surgery set, recovery to take 6 months

Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera should be able to return to baseball activities in six months after his ruptured biceps tendon is surgically repaired on Thursday, according to team head athletic trainer Doug Teter.

Tough news for Miguel Cabrera and the Tigers: He ruptured a biceps tendon on a swing and will miss need season-ending surgery. Given his age and long list of injuries in recent seasons, you have to wonder if we'll ever see a healthy and awesome Miggy again.

Tigers lose Cabrera to ruptured biceps tendon

Miguel Cabrera, who came off the DL this month, will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his left biceps tendon when he swung awkwardly in the third inning Tuesday.
