The Cubs reduced their magic number to win the central division to 6 with an 8-3 win over the White Sox. Combined with Milwaukee's loss to Pittsburgh they've increased their lead over the Brewers to 2.5 games again. They've also inched closer to clinching at least a wild card spot but they have their sights set on the division.

The Chicago Cubs played without shortstop Addison Russell after he was accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife, and they were unable to overcome a shaky performance by Jose Quintana in a 10-4 loss to the crosstown White Sox on Friday.
