ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Fletcher Magee hit six 3-pointers and scored 27 points to lead Wofford to a 70-57 win over High Point on Sunday, it's fourth straight.
After the Panthers (4-7) opened the scoring, Wofford scored 10 straight with Trevor Stumpe and Magee knocking downing 3-pointers. Four different players scored in an 8-0 that made it 23-9 with nine minutes to play in the first half.
High Point cut the deficit to 34-26 at the break and an early five points cut it to 38-33 but the Terriers steadily pulled away.
Magee was just named the Southern Conference player of the week for the second time this season and fourth time in his career after scoring 36 points in an upset of Georgia Tech and 22 in 15 minutes of a rout of Johnson & Wales.
For some teams, a win in the NCAA tournament would be a significant achievement. For the elite contenders, anything short of a Final Four run would be a disappointment.
