In this event the competitors will be chopping a 12'' block atop a 9' pole, which each competitor will ascend by chopping notches in to the pole into which boards are inserted and then stood upon to chop the next higher notch. The eight competitors will compete in a head-to-head bracketed format, with the first competitor in each bracket to ascend their pole and sever their block winning the bracket.
