Notable
Carl's father got him involved in shooting, and he says he was pretty good at it right away. He started competing and went from local to state to national to international competitions. He won the National Championships in rifle 4 years in a row - 1977, '78, '79, '80. He retired from it, came back and won it again in '1992. He retired again and then came back and won it in 2000. He says he pulled a "Jordan" and could do it again.
Quotable
Carl knows his speed is his weakness - "Everyone else will shoot two shots for my one." He says, "You have to have the vision to hit the target. The gun will start shooting faster than you can shoot, so you need to have the right timing where you hit the targets."
