Richard has had a few major surgeries. The worst was his neck surgery, as a result of a collapsed vertebrae. His whole right arm was numb, and following the surgery he still has numbness in the index finger of his right hand - his trigger finger. He says that he has adjusted by just shooting on movement. One of his other surgeries, just last October, had a much more positive effect. He had surgery on his right eye and says that he is shooting better than ever.
