G2's Mikyx might miss MSI due to wrist injury

G2 Esports support player Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle said he might not be able to participate in next month's Mid-season Invitational due to a right wrist injury.

Mikyx helped G2 to the LEC Spring Split title, with the team posting the quickest series victory in EU history. However, in an Instagram post Mikyx wrote that he is "very much restricted due to the injury."

"I've always really wanted to play MSI and play all other top teams from the other regions, but right now I'm not so sure if that is gonna be possible given that I'm still very much restricted due to the injury," he wrote. "The healing and recovery takes priority, but I'm gonna give it my all nonetheless.

"Maybe next time it won't take me a trophy to make another post, cya at MSI!"

MSI begins May 1, with the Spring champions from the various regional leagues competing in Vietnam and Taiwan.

The play-in stage will take place from May 1-7 in Ho Chi Minh City, with Hanoi the site of the main event group stage May 10-14. The playoffs will take place May 17-19 in Taipei.

The main event will feature a six-team group stage with a double round-robin format and the top four teams advancing to the playoffs.
