7.20pm Mahmudullah has this to say: "At this point of time we are quite happy with our score but we need to come out hard and bowl well, and pick up early wickets because it's still a good wicket to bat on. Me and Imrul just played it ball by ball, we didn't rush much. As the partnership went on, we said we need to finish well. Imrul is a top-order batsman but he came in the middle order to lend some experience because we wanted to keep the middle order strong."

7.15pm Bangladesh have a very defendable score on board, especially considering Afghanistan haven't chased yet. Mahmudullah and Kayes were magnificent after some hara-kiri had reduced Bangladesh to 87 for 5.

The Afghanistan bowlers were adequate, but not very incisive. And the fielding wasn't very hot, though Shenwari's direct hit to run out Shakib was superb.

Tasmeem: "If you compare the average, you will find that Imrul has a decent average as an opener. His only problem is he can't convert his starts, which has been hampering him throughout his career. But the problem is that others don't even get the starts."

Gulbadin Naib to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 2 runs, moved across his stumps a long way and the bowler followed him, but he was able to pick it up off his feet and hit it to deep square leg

Darshan Mandali: "I feel today both matches will go down to last over. This match as well as Ind vs Pak match. Super duper sunday and need of very high speed internet to see one match on TV and another on laptop. "

Gulbadin Naib to Imrul Kayes, 1 run, picked up the slower ball full toss outside off and swatted it to long-on

Rakhesh: "I raised this question last time also, though my comment was not published, why is Asghar Stanikzai referred as Asghar Afghan these days?" - He's officially changed his name.

Mayank: "Feels like we are back in 90s. 240-250 are winning totals here and 220 odd is defendable." - I for one find it refreshing

W
Aftab Alam to Mashrafe Mortaza, OUT, clever bowling Mashrafe was moving across to paddle it perhaps. Aftab spotted it, and bowled another of his slower ones. The batsman didn't pick it, and the ball kissed his bat to lob up to the keeper for the simplest of catches

Atiq: "No disrespect to anyone commenting, but a specialist batsman such as Kayes is expected to play responsibly. I feel we tend to overdo with both praising and admonishing the players. Too often we judge our players either as a hero or a zero, but seldom as an average Joe."
