No. 23 Iowa State beats Baylor 28-14 for 5th straight win

Brock Purdy threw for a touchdown and ran for another score, and No. 23 Iowa State topped Baylor 28-14 on Saturday after a skirmish in the third quarter resulted in unsportsmanlike conduct penalties for each player on both teams.

ISU's Montgomery ejected, suspended after fight

Iowa State running back David Montgomery was ejected and will be suspended for the first half against Texas next week for his role in a fight during the third quarter of the Cyclones' 28-14 win over Baylor.

Baylor DE Greg Roberts and Iowa State RB David Montgomery have been ejected for throwing punches here in Ames. The melee involved several other players and began on a prior play when Baylor safety Chris Miller was flagged for a late hit on Montgomery on the ISU sideline. No information yet on how this ejection will affect Montgomery's fate next week at Texas.

Purdy keeps Iowa State's offense rolling (0:24)

No. 22 Iowa State is on the board in Ames with an 11-yard strike from Brock Purdy to Deshaunte Jones on its opening drive to take a 7-0 lead over Baylor. Purdy, the true freshman, is 4-0 as the Cyclones' starting QB and aiming to lead ISU to its first-ever streak of five straight league wins in the same season. He was 5 of 6 for 61 yards and rushed twice for 19 yards on that first possession.
