Syracuse hopes Dungey can play finale at BC

Syracuse hopes that quarterback Eric Dungey, injured in its loss to Notre Dame, will be able to play the Orange's season finale at Boston College on Saturday.

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said he isn't interested in being compared to Alabama and Clemson as CFP contenders. "We're not interested in being compared. All we want is to be playing our best in November. We're playing really well right now, especially on defense."

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said Ian Book played "pretty well" but showed some rust from the week off with a rib injury. Said Book came away feeling good health-wise.

Syracuse lost at Clemson by four points and to Notre Dame by 33. He said both teams deserve to be in the top four of the CFP rankings, and added that the Irish are "better than what people think they are."

Syracuse coach Dino Barbers didn't add much about quarterback Eric Dungey's injury and availability for next week's regular-season finale at Boston College. He said they've got to get him back to Syracuse to evaluate the injury. Dungey seemed to be grabbing his lower back when he left in the first quarter.
