AUSTIN, Texas -- True freshman quarterback Sam Ehlinger got the start in Texas' 40-34, double-overtime win over Kansas State on Saturday night.
This was Ehlinger's third start of the season. He replaced starter Shane Buechele, who was limited in practice this week because of an ankle injury.
Ehlinger went 30-of-50 for 380 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Ranked the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the nation in the 2017 ESPN 300, Ehlinger also added 107 yards on 20 carries Saturday night.
The Longhorns are now 2-1 in games started by Ehlinger.
