ITTA BENA, Miss. -- Noah Johnson threw for seven touchdowns and 285 yards on 12 -for-16 passing to send Alcorn State Past Mississippi Valley State 61-7 on Saturday.
The Braves clinched the east division title after Alabama A&M beat Jackson State 27-20. Alcorn State has now won seven consecutive games against the SWAC's east division dating back to last year.
Turner also had 105 yards rushing on 12 carries and Johnson ran for 64 yards and a touchdown.
The Delta Devils used three quarterbacks who combined to throw for 139 yards and three interceptions. MVSU avoided a shut out with 1:33 to play when Thurston Rubin threw an 11-yard score to Booker Chambers.
It was Alcorn State's fourth straight win over MVSU (1-9, 1-7). The Braves have outscored the Delta Devils 203-58 in the last four seasons.
