MURRAY, Ky. -- KD Humphries threw five touchdown passes to four different receivers as Murray State held off Tennessee State 38-31 in an Ohio Valley Conference battle Saturday.
Humphries found Jordan Gandy for a 75-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Humphries completed 27 of 35 attempts for 398 yards. Jesse Blackburn had eight catches for 132 yards. Demetric Johnson caught a pair of touchdown passes, including a 52-yard strike in the first quarter and a 39-yarder in the third. Tyre Gray caught a 25-yard strike for a TD and Malik Golson pulled in a 6-yard scoring toss.
The Tigers finished with 555 total yards, 98 more than the Racers (3-5, 3-2).
Ronald Butler threw for 329 yards to lead Tennessee State (5-3, 2-2), completing 27 of 41 attempts. Butler had three touchdown passes but was also picked off twice, and added 109 yards rushing on 13 attempts.
